Josh Rifkin

C.H.E.K. Practitioner and Functional Range Strength and Mobility Coach

I grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana and I began playing tennis at a young age. This led me to junior tennis and then a collegiate career at Ithaca College (2007-2011) in upstate New York. I became the school's first All-American in doubles with my partner and hold the record for most career wins in the school’s history. After college, I continued my passion for tennis and turned professional in 2011 training at The Austin Tennis Academy (Austin, TX) . When my career was cut short due to injuries at the end of 2012, I came back home to Fort Wayne and began teaching professionally at Wildwood Racquet Club. I taught all levels of tennis with high-performance tennis as a focus. Concurrently, I founded Synergistic Body, a private training studio training sport specific athletes, general population clients, and anyone looking to improve their performance in their life or sport using a holistic approach to health, fitness, and performance.

In 2016 I returned to The Austin Tennis Academy as a fitness and tennis coach. I spent 2016-2020 in Austin, Texas directing the fitness program, training, and coaching the athletes at The Austin Tennis Academy. I specialize in tennis performance and training, and am one of less than 1,000 Master Tennis Performance Specialists (MTPS) in the world certified through the International Tennis Performance Association.

I am excited to be back home in Fort Wayne and bring my experience and philosophy of training back to the Midwest region. Now back home, I have reignited Synergistic Body. With Synergistic Body, my focus is to use a wide range of tools tailored specifically to each individual in order to improve their movement, function and performance in their everyday lives.

In my free time, I enjoy kettlebell workouts, finding the newest comedy shows and movies, stand up comedy (watching and performing), seeking out the best cold-brewed coffee in town, trying new food spots, (sort of a food and coffee snob), and a good Xbox session with friends and cousins.
